Die Volksbühne am Rosa-Luxemburg-Platz widmet den „Heiligen Abend“ den Ausnahmekünstler:innen Genesis P-Orridge, zweifellos eine der einflussreichsten und kontroversesten Akteur:innen des 20. Jahrhunderts und Impulsgeber:innen für eine ganze Generation junger, queerer, radikaler Kunstschaffender. Wegbegleiter:innen und Freund:innen von Genesis lesen aus den autobiographischen Memoiren NONBINARY, die vor kurzem erschienen sind. Genesis‘ Label Industrial Records war nicht nur namensgebend für ein ganzes Genre, die Liebesgeschichte zwischen Genesis und Lady Jaye Breyer zählt auch zu einer der legendärsten und elementarsten Formen des Zusammenseins, das durch das sogenannte Pandrogyne Projekt eine neue Ebene der Verschmelzung bekam: das Aufbrechen vom binären Geschlechtskonzept durch den Körper als transformierendes, fluktuierendes Kunstobjekt. Wir feiern gemeinsam dieses Lebenswerk mit unserer chosen family, Freund:innen und ganz viel Prosecco!

The Volksbühne am Rosa-Luxemburg-Platz dedicates Christmas Eve to the exceptional artist and performer Genesis P-Orridge, who undeniably was one of the most influential and controversial trendsetter advancing a whole generation of young, queer, radical artists. Companions and friends of Genesis will read from his autobiographical memoir NONBINARY recently released. Genesis‘ music label Industrial Records branded a new music genre of the same name, and the relationship of Genesis and Lady Jaye Breyer was one of the most elementary and legendary forms of partnering to date, taking the idea of melding and conflating binaries and the opposite sexes to the next level in their joint ‚pandrogyne project‘, in a mission to rethink and recreate traditional gender concepts through the body conceived as a transforming and fluctuating object of art.

We will pay tribute to this outstanding achievement with our chosen family, friends and a lot of prosecco!
